Well, Hi There.

Where have I been? Oh, um…let’s just blame Life, okay?

Just don’t tell Life I said that or it might throw more lemons my way. There’s only so much lemonade I can attempt to make out of those bushels.

Long story short, I was taking time to figure some stuff out in my relationships, my career, and what I actually want out of life. Then an emergency back home earlier this year caused a typhoon of depression and life questions that I’m just now finally able to sort out.

Not fully, I should say, but still a step forward.

This past year, I’ve learned more than I would have liked. Felt more pain than my heart wanted to handle. Experienced more anxiety and depression than ever before.

But throughout all that, I have felt HIM.

Woman crumpling up papers with notepad and pen in front of her.

It’s like those moments with kids jumping into a pool but their feet never leave the edge even though their dad is literally right there with arms outstretched encouraging the child he’s gonna catch them.

I’m that kid.

My heart is still so broken and my body has been so tired this year, that even though I can see Him promising to catch me, I’m still terrified of the moment without solid ground beneath my feet.

This reminds me of a few years ago when I climbed a tree to ride a short zipline – (Ziplines are my favorite by the way!) – but as I sat on the ledge to push off, I found myself more focused on the single second of freefall instead of the joy I always feel flying through the air attached to a proven safety harness.

I was terrified of the few moments of unknown.

My thirty-year-old self that jumped out of a plane at 15,000 feet would be so confused with my current self.

You’ve taken so many chances. You’ve traveled so far. You live in Ohio, for goodness sake! Why can’t you take that step?

I don’t know… I can feel it deep in my bones. Everything is going to change.

Isn’t that a good thing? Or are you too comfortable?

Maybe I am too comfortable. How about we change that first?

So, friend. Long story short, this is my way of saying that I’m stepping out. Sure, I can’t see my feet right now. And no, I don’t know what next year holds. I could respond with that line that says “for I know the One who holds tomorrow,” but that’s not the case here.

You see, He may be with my tomorrows and all throughout my yesterdays, but He’s also right here holding my hand in the present, telling me that He’s got me every single step I’m able to take.

He’s not dragging me along causing lines in the sand. He still carries me at times but mostly, He sits with me when the days are hard and I don’t move forward.

What’s the plan then?

The plan is to finally take steps into the life I want to live. A life that I actually want to wake up to. A life that allows me to enjoy the projects I work on, help others move forward with their dreams, and gives God the glory.

My heart is for writers, survivors, women, young people, dreamers.

Those who need a boost of encouragement in their small business or words of affirmation about their story ideas.

Sure, I may post prepper blogs occasionally but they won’t be my main focus for now. You’re always welcome to send questions my way as I still live in that world with everything going on currently. I’d love to chat!

But my main focus will be you, dear friend. Helping you accomplish your dreams.

If you’re unsure what projects I can help you with, please check out my new Services page. I’ll be adding to it in the future.

If you don’t see what you’re looking for, contact me and we’ll come up with a plan.

All in all, I’m excited about this step. Nervous as all get out but still excited enough to possibly have a panic attack. One of those weird good ones. (I have those and they confuse me.)

The most exciting part though, is knowing that I’m not alone. Not only is my Father with me to guide my small steps, but you’re here as well. Let’s see what’s on the other side together, shall we?

Until next time!
