Why hello there!
I’ll bet you wondered if I had gone off the grid already. Not yet, my friend!
Honestly, I’ve experienced an interesting past few months. Yeah, “interesting” is a good word for that time.
Seems like just yesterday I posted a life update and here I am updating you again.
I broke my promise to post regularly and I’m sorry for that. When I call the past few months “interesting,” what I really mean is: starting all over in the workforce and re-learning a new weekly schedule and taking some time to allow myself to want to write again.
Unfortunately, I found myself in a headspace where I didn’t want to look at my stories or blog or even think about writing. I could feel the want to want to write deep down (I hope that makes sense), but my brain needed some time to breathe.
So I stopped beating myself up about not writing and I took some time. Time to really think through what I want to do in life and fully process the past year. Now I’m back and excited about this new year!
I want to write again and it’s refreshing!
So what’s in store for 2023?

Goodness, I can’t tell you that. Only God knows for sure.
But I can share that I plan to keep on track as best as I can.
The prepper world is growing and I am back along for the ride.
Although, I never really fell off the highway, I just took a side road by myself for a while. Almost felt like when I was starting out in this area of my life in Dallas: on my own but still ready.
This year, my plan is to stay in the conversation of prepping. I’ve been listening to This Prepared Life on Spotify while I drive to work in the mornings and she’s been a big help in keeping me grounded in the prepper world.
Also, I’m hoping to be able to share more stories with you all. Whether they’re short stories I wrote while attending SOKW or snippets from novels I’ve been working on.
I really hope to be able to share my novella this year. It was fun to write and I’m ready to get back into the editing stage with that story.
Other News
In case you don’t know, I had to withdraw from the School of Kingdom Writers program after completing the first year.
I’m praying about whether I should return for the second year but for right now, I’m working full-time and developing a new schedule.
Yes, I have a full-time job again! Although, with the ridiculous work schedule I had while in the program, I was practically already full-time but without the benefits.
I moved up into the Art Department at 5B’s. Using my degree again, yay!
Not that I ever stopped being a designer but now I have the official workforce title again.
What else…oh! I have a new roommate!
She’s a first year student at SOKW and will have her new website up soon so I can share her with you all! As well as the other new student living with Thirzah.
Lindsey is also a type of prepper in that she has experience with having her own garden and honing her baking skills. The apartment smells like fresh baked bread all the time and I am here for it!
She’s great and I’ve enjoyed having her living with me. Of course, God had to put the two Texas girls in the same apartment.
That’s a Wrap

A wrap up of the past few months, that is.
Next week I’ll be sharing how to get the new year started in the right direction with a prepper mindset.
January is full of new beginnings and if you’ve been putting off your prepper list, now is the time to dust off that sucker and get started! Keep an eye out for my post next week or sign up for my newsletter so you don’t miss it! Just in case, of course.
Until next time,
Happy Prepping Friends!
